No accounts. No servers. No collection.

Ascend is built so that this policy can be short: the app has no backend, no sign-up, and collects no data. Everything you create lives in Apple's own services, under your Apple Account, exactly where it would live without Ascend.
DATA COLLECTED BY ASCEND: NONE
Where your data lives
- Tasks are your Apple Reminders. Ascend reads and writes them through Apple's EventKit framework on your device. They sync through your own iCloud (or other configured) accounts, governed by Apple's terms — never through us.
- Events are your Apple Calendar events, accessed the same way.
- Notes are stored on your device and synced between your devices via your private iCloud database (CloudKit). We cannot read them — the container belongs to your Apple Account.
- North Stars, flags, projects, and preferences are small markers stored on your device and mirrored through iCloud Key-Value Storage so your own devices agree. They never touch a third-party server.
- Apple Watch data travels directly between your paired iPhone and watch over Apple's encrypted WatchConnectivity channel.
What Ascend does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising, no trackers, no fingerprinting.
- No accounts, passwords, or profiles.
- No selling, sharing, or transmitting of your content to anyone — including us. Ascend makes no network connections of its own.
Permissions Ascend asks for
- Reminders access — to show and edit your tasks. Denying it simply leaves the Tasks surfaces empty.
- Calendar access — to show and edit your events. Same graceful degradation.
Both permissions are managed by iOS/macOS/watchOS and can be revoked at any time in Settings; Ascend keeps working with whatever you allow.
Children
Ascend collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If Ascend ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the update will be posted at this address with a new effective date before it takes effect.
